  • How can I join the army of a higher commander?

When you become a 3rd Lieutenant, you can join armies. To do this, you have to go to the Castle in the city centre. Note you can only join armies which are in the same city as you (if the army is in another city,  you will have to move to that city before joining it). Armies with several officers are needed to take cities of your enemy, as it is most of the times hard for a single player to conquer a city on his own.

  • Can I join the army of someone who has the same rank as me?
No, you can't. You can only join an army of someone who is of a higher rank than you are.

  • I got attacked twice in 3 hours, how is that possible?
When you are attacked (Player versus Player [PvP] or in a city battle) you can't be attacked again for 6 turns have passed. This gives you and your soldiers some time to heal. 6 turns means 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on when you get exactly, so you can get attacked twice in 3 hours but with at least 2.5 hours in between.
The protection can also end before the 6 turns have passed. When you make any attack (whether PvP, city battle, or patrol) the protection is immediately ended and you can be attacked again.

  • I captured a soldier now what?

The soldier is automatically ransomed back to the officer, city or group you captured him from.  The amount of gold required is determined by the game, depending on the wage and rank of the soldier.  The amount of ransom paid is shown at the bottom of the battle result. ("### gold ransom received.")

There is no option to kill a captured soldier or to 'convert' him to your side, though many players have suggested such options it has been decided not to implement them in the game.

  • What type of unit is my officer?
Your officer is an infantry unit.

  • My unit was injured but the hospital shows it still has more than half its HP?
A unit gets injured if it loses 50% or more of its HP during a battle. If you unit has negative terrain modifier, it will fight with less HP than normal. A unit with 100 HP and a -10% terrain modifier for example will have only 90 HP in the battle - that means the unit will get injured when it receives 45 (or more) damage, it will be moved to the hospital then. After the battle, the hospital will show that the unit has 55 out of 100 HP (more than half) because the unit only received 45 damage and the terrain modifier is not counted in the hospital.

  • It says I have 350/350 xp. Should I level to the next rank?
You will level when you go over your max xp for your rank. This is a little confusing to those who have played other xp-based games, but you'll get used to it.

  • My income has gone below the set minimum, is that allowed?
There are two types of minimum incomes, the known as the 'soft cap' and the 'hard cap'.

The soft cap refers to the lowest income you can get when buying new units in the castle, for lower ranks this is 0, but higher ranks have minimum incomes below 0; you can see how much exactly in the castle or in the Reference Guide. This minimum applies only when hiring new soldiers in a castle. You can't hire a soldier if it would case your income to go below the minimum.

The hard cap refers to the lowest income you can get when promoting units. The hard cap is always lower than the soft cap; for officers with a soft cap of 0 the hard cap is -100, for other officers it's twice the soft cap (so the hard cap is -62 if the soft cap is -31, etc).

Note you can get below the hard cap when accepting the wandering soldier you encounter during patrolling.

  • My income is incorrect, how can it be fixed?
It will be fixed if you press the dismiss button in your encampment (even if dismissing 0 soldiers, so without any checkboxes checked). Other ways to get your income recalculated are fighting in a battle or buying a soldier.

  • What happens when my officer dies?
Officers fight together with their men and run the same risk of getting hit and getting injured or even killed as every other soldier. When you die in a battle or have committed suicide, you will return to the country where you were in but you'll have to start over from corporal again.

    ^top
  • How long does it take for a dead player to revive?
It takes one turn (from the moment of death) for a dead player to be revived. This means it can take anywhere from just a few minutes up to half an hour, depending on when the death occurred. In a random joining age you cannot suicide out of country until you joined the country of your choice. You can leave your country only once in 72 ticks.

Once revived, the player will have to join a country again will start over as a corporal. When you suicide in country, you arrive in the city you were in as corporal. Players who died in a battle will return to the country they were in; players who used the suicide button can choose a new country (If you also play navy, you also need to suicide for this character to change country).

    ^top
  • How do I reset my character?
The only way to reset your character is to get killed. The easiest way to get yourself killed is by hitting the 'suicide' button in your profile (but you can get killed in combat too). After you're killed you have to wait one turn, after which you will be able to join another country (If you also play navy, you also need to suicide for this character to change country). You'll start as a corporal again.
The suicide option has no influence on your privilege level. So when you have lvl2 you can't get back lvl1 by pushing the suicide button.

  • I don't like my officer name. How do I change it?
You are allowed to change your name once each age. You can do this yourself through your profile page. Creating a second account to change your name is not allowed (both accounts may be banned when you do this.)

    ^top
  • Is it ok to create a new account (for whatever reason)?
No, it's not allowed to have more than 1 account a person. This rule is because having multiple accounts is a good way to spy and because of the policy for name changes (which can only be done during the first 48 hours of an age).
Note that even when your character is dead, creating a new account is not allowed. You have to wait till you are revived and join a country with your first (and only) account.

    ^top
  • I'm tired of the game how do I delete my character?
First off: We're sorry to see you go. You can't delete your account however, the only thing you can do is not log in again: your account will be removed from the game after 3 days but won't be permanently deleted at the end of the age. If you want, you can suicide (or die in another way) before signing off, but that's not necessary.
